Based on Experiment #7 Activation Energy and should include a Title, Introduction, Procedural Summary, the data, Discussion, and Conclusion. The language must be in a third-person narration.
Title: feel free to be creative/unique
Introduction: The introduction briefly describes the purpose of the experiment: what you did, how and why you did it. In addition, this section should include a brief scientific background of the topic. All your primary sources of information should be appropriately cited. You should be able to write this section in two paragraphs.
Procedure: This section is sometimes called the Experimental section. Summarize the procedure in a third person, passive voice. Do not copy the procedure from the lab handout –the writing style should be in paragraph form. You do not need to include every excruciating detail, condense it. Avoid writing commands or using first person narrative.
Data: Insert a table displaying the data you collected in the lab (All tables should have a title, and an explanation of what the table is showing in words below it). Use the word.document to insert the table, do not insert a screenshot of your HW handout. Explain the math in words and then show a sample calculation.
Discussion/Conclusion: Provide your interpretation of the data presented. Compare your trials, is the data precise? Is there a theoretical value you can compare your experimental value to, to comment on the accuracy? Does your math make sense? Is there any uncertainty involved, if so what kind? Did anything go wrong – if so explain. Is there a way you could have improved the experiment? Wrap up the discussion with a conclusionary sentence about the experiment.
If you quote/summarize from any source (the textbook, online, etc) you must use in-text citations (ACS format) and include a “References” section at the end of your report. Any form of plagiarism will result in a zero.
